Our contactless payment system makes this process even easier. It allows us to monitor machines live, ensuring they are fully operational and properly stocked at all times. We have been developing and refining this technology within our business, and it is now a feature across most of our machines.

Our director, John, completed a business degree in 2020. As part of his dissertation in 2019, he researched the key drivers of growth within the vending industry. Having studied contactless technology in 2017 and 2018, John recognised that while the technology existed, its adoption within the vending industry was still in its early stages. By 2019, it became clear that the time was right to embrace this change, and our first contactless devices were installed later that year. Today, Janet and John are leading the way in contactless machine payments across the UK.

Cash Reliance
In 2021, we began upgrading our equipment on a large scale to significantly increase the proportion of contactless payments processed through our machines - aiming for 50% or more of total revenue.

By upgrading at this scale, we are moving with the times as quickly as possible while reducing our reliance on cash transactions.
Nayax
Incorporating the Nayax Device
We began developing contactless technology for our Penny Press machines in 2020 and chose to adopt the Onyx contactless device across our estate. This advanced device features a customer-facing screen, allowing users to clearly see the product price and watch the transaction as it takes place. It also enables us to monitor equipment remotely, identifying and resolving issues before they are reported.

This proactive approach reduces machine downtime and leads to higher revenue. By offering contactless payments, we also minimise the security risks associated with cash handling and significantly reduce the time spent managing cash.
